I am currently the Manuel H. Johnson Professor of Economics in the Sorrell College of Business at Troy University.  I received my Ph.D. in Economics from West Virginia University in 2012, an M.A. in Economics from Central Michigan University in 2007, and a B.A. in Economics from Hillsdale College in 2005.  Prior to joining the faculty at Troy University I was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Mercer University.  


My main areas of research include public economics and political economy.  My academic work has appeared in such scholarly outlets as the Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Macroeconomics, Public Choice, Journal of Regulatory Economics, Economics of Governance, Business & Politics, and Journal of Institutional Economics among others.
